Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) is strengthening its sustainability footprint across East Africa. Alongside its 2025 financial results, the bank shared updates on a growing list of sustainability initiatives that stretch beyond traditional banking. At the center of that is its environmental push: DTB says it has now planted more than one million trees through its Much More Than Trees programme.
DTB’s efforts also extend into social impact. Through its Achieve More Girl programme, the bank has reached over 30,000 girls, focusing on menstrual health and keeping girls in school.
The bank says it has trained more than 10,000 individuals and small businesses in financial literacy and enterprise development. This move ties directly into the region’s growing focus on MSMEs as engines of economic growth.
Speaking after the results, Group CEO Nasim Devji framed this as part of a broader strategy, one where sustainability is not a side initiative, but something being built into the bank’s long-term direction.
DTB Kenya CEO Murali Natarajan echoed a similar sentiment and pointed to a balance between financial performance and measurable impact.
